Look to the future for things uncertain

It's literally been ages since I last updated. It's been a pretty whirlwind year so far. Can you believe that it's already the middle of the year? Where has the time gone? I still remember celebrating the new year and anticipating what's to come.

Just a little update since once again I have been ignoring my LJ. I seem to do it regularly every year. Old habits die hard.

Work? Can't complain. Being in the industry I'm in now, we've pretty much took a hard hit. Soldiering on, doing the best we can. Only time will tell if it was all worth it.

Family? All in the best of health. Happy and contented for the most part.

Friends? While some priorities shifted, the lot of us still stayed good friends. My colleagues have become pretty constant in my life these days. You'd think we would be pretty fed-up with each other since we see each other day in and day out.

Love? Very much so, thank you :)

So what have you all been up to? How's 2009 been treating you?

Wishing you a Happy New Year!

I know I have been neglecting my journal again. I have really no excuse except I'm lazy to post stuff these days.

However, every year, without fail, I've done a New Year's post and I don't want to break that tradition. I've meet many great friends on Livejournal and I feel it deserves a little love and attention.

So I give you, my 2008 in a nutshell.
  • Got a new job, which I was very excited and happy about. Almost a year later and I'm still excited and happy about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm also stressed out but as someone told me, "If it ain't stressful, it ain't a job, honey!".
  • Met lots of new and interesting people this year. Some friendships fell apart (distance, issues, etc) but new ones blossomed. That's life. When one door closes, another opens.
  • Had a chance to travel to many places. I went to Langkawi, Macau, Singapore, Spain and London. I'm very thankful for the opportunity to do so, and the great people I went with and met.
  • Remembered that some things are more important than others. Life is what you make of it. Nothing's perfect, nothing's easy but the challenges makes it all worth while.
  • It hasn't all been a bed of roses. There's been times where I felt like giving up because something's too hard or I felt that I wasn't good enough. But with the support of my family and friends, I persevered on. I can honestly say I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't because of them. So thank you!
I'm hoping for a good 2009. I don't usually do New Year Resolutions. I have always believed that you should live your life, one day at a time. So I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you...

May you have a great year ahead and may happiness be just a stone's throw away.

Supernatural is back on! Oh, I know I'm a few weeks late but I have really good excuses for neglecting my boys.

My thoughts under here with inevitable spoilers, just so you know.Collapse )

In conclusion, I love my boys. They should not be gone so long. I was having withdrawal issues.

I'm on my way out of the door as soon as I post this. Meeting up with some friends at a coffee shop to catch up.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Justin and Rob Knox produce Dead and Gone? Why does everyone assume it was produced by Timberland? Sure, it's a compliment but damn people, if you're writing a professional review, it wouldn't hurt to check your facts first.

But now I can see, I am changing

There are just too many people I know with birthdays in September. I keep messing up dates. It's kinda embarassing. Heh.

I had a pre-birthday dinner last Friday. It was lovely. There was good food, good conversation and good friends. I got a Spa treatment! I can't wait to try it.

I received lots of messages and calls from friends and family, which made me feel really loved.

One year older, one year wiser, they always say.

Happy Independence Day, Malaysia!
I'm proud to be Malaysian.

Ganked from rieyll.

My LJ Personality TestCollapse )

I watched Kung-Fu Panda last week. Loved it! It was so hilarious. My sister and I could not stop laughing. We've decided that this movie would be our pick-me-up movie from now on.

I went to one of my college friends wedding. We haven't kept in contact since graduation (we had a falling out, mind you). I was pretty surprised to get an invitation but I'm glad I went. I met some of my old friends. It was nice to catch up on what everyone has been up to.

Tomorrow's a holiday. Don't know what my plans are as yet. Probably nothing. Heh.

There's no two ways about it

OMG, Wall-E was just so adorable and heartwarming. Everybody must watch it. Go, go, go.

Work has been okay. Some things are going well, and some things just can't seem to go the way it's suppose to. But that's life, right? Honestly, I have no complaints. I'm enjoying my job more, bit by bit. That's all I can ask for, really.

Oh goodness, I'm turning one year older in a few weeks. Time sure flies.

I miss my weekly dose of Supernatural but I haven't really kept with any news. Anything interesting happening in fandom? I'm so glad The Closer has started again. At least there's something to keep me occupied before the new season.

Pick and match, you'll be surprised

Wow, for the first time ever, LJ has failed me. It's nothing serious, don't worry. It's just that I've always been able to find what I've been looking for, but not this time.

Aaah, somebody stop me from moving to Facebook. I'm still on Friendster but the pull is too great. I know at least one of my friends who would like nothing better than for me to join so she could mock me day and night. Why? Because she just joined Facebook about a month ago (probably the last few of our friends who did, excluding me since I've vehemently opposed to it...at first) and I called her a Facebook loser. Now, if I do join, I'll never hear the last of it. Serves me right, huh?

A few of my friends and I are watching Sex and the City tomorrow. Yay, I can't wait!

Dude, Dark Knight was SO FREAKING AWESOME! I really, truly enjoyed myself and it was better than I expected it to be. Two thumbs up.,

I had a staff dinner yesterday, which was a whole lotta fun. I got to meet my old colleagues from my attachment whom I miss dearly. The food wasn't so bad either although I didn't really eat that much. But really, the food was secondary to the company. I had a lovely time.

Oh, and Justin hosting the ESPYs? Nothing could be funnier. He did a great job. He was hilarious!

Gotta sleep early today because I barely slept a wink yesterday.

Taking care of business

No, I'm not dead yet. But there were a few times where I worried I was. Heh.

My eyes are starting to hurt especially the right side. I thought my power increased but I found out that it wasn't so bad. I guess I just have to rest my eyes a bit more.

Went out to dinner with my sister and her husband. I love salmon pasta. Yum!

My Saturday and Sunday is pretty full this week. I kinda wish I had a chance to just relax though.

I'm falling asleep on my keyboard. Not a good sign.
Wow, I didn't think I would feel this sad about ending my attachment. I wish I could have stayed. I enjoyed the work immensely. It was different than those normal 9 to 5 jobs, sitting in the office in front of the computer. I got to learn a lot about the industry while meeting new people every single day. It wasn't always easy but it was an enjoyable experience. I think what made it great were the people there. They're the nicest bunch of people I have ever met. Puts my old job to shame, really. I took pictures with almost all of them. I'm sure I'll be looking back at them and remembering the great time I had.

Tonight is movie night. I have 27 Dresses and Untraceable to watch.

I still haven't watched those new episodes of Supernatural. I know, I don't believe it either.

Justin and Madonna performing '4 Minutes'? Me like.
